Hartwood is a Community Land Trust with the following aims:

Hope and inspiracy for the brighter, saner future we can all create if we so choose. Evolving networks of low-impact, food and energy resilient, permanently affordable, secure, self-governing eco-arks. To be guardians of sanctuary for all living things, re-vitalising our despoiled and depopulated rural landscapes. Anyone who wishes to take a more active role in designing, promoting, building and living in this kind of environment is more than welcome to join with us.

All work carried out by Hartwood members is voluntary. Costs are kept to a minimum. The subs paid by full members and donations are used to keep costs low for the events and courses we provide, and to pay those who will not provide a service in exchange for anything but money, i.e. admin & license fees for setting up the community legal structures, help with expenses for promotional events, website hosting costs etc.
